As evening falls in Syracuse, the sun descends over the Ionian Sea and the city is enveloped in a soft light that enhances its millennial past. Founded by Greek settlers from Corinth in the eighth century BCE, the city grew to become an ancient Mediterranean powerhouse. Today it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the cave necropolis of Pantalica and preserves an identity marked by science, thought and history.
The profile of the Castello Maniace is silhouetted against the water, recalling the time of Frederick II and its strategic role next to the port. In this scenario, the Syracuse Charter dedicated to biodiversity and the dialogue between nature, culture and development was signed in 2009. Filmmakers from different generations have found here a natural setting that proves that Italy is also a living memory expressed every day at sunset.
Al caer la tarde en Siracusa, el sol desciende sobre el mar Jónico y la ciudad se envuelve en una luz suave que realza su pasado milenario. Fundada por colonos griegos de Corinto en el siglo VIII antes de nuestra era, la ciudad creció hasta convertirse en una potencia del Mediterráneo antiguo. Hoy forma parte del conjunto Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO junto con la necrópolis rupestre de Pantalica y conserva una identidad marcada por la ciencia, el pensamiento y la historia.
El perfil del Castello Maniace se recorta frente al agua, recordando la época de Federico II y su papel estratégico junto al puerto. En este escenario se firmó en 2009 la Carta de Siracusa dedicada a la biodiversidad y al diálogo entre naturaleza, cultura y desarrollo. Cineastas de distintas generaciones han encontrado aquí un decorado natural que demuestra que Italia es también memoria viva expresada cada día al ponerse el sol.
Con il calar della sera a Siracusa, il sole scende sul Mar Ionio e la città è avvolta da una luce soffusa che ne valorizza il passato millenario. Fondata da coloni greci provenienti da Corinto nell'VIII secolo a.C., la città crebbe fino a diventare un'antica potenza mediterranea. Oggi fa parte del sito Patrimonio dell'Umanità UNESCO insieme alla necropoli grottarotta di Pantalica e preserva un'identità segnata da scienza, pensiero e storia.
