Lo ha fatto con parole durissime, che non lasciano spazio ad ambiguità, interpretazioni, ai se, ai ma, ai forse.“Rifiutiamo l’azione militare unilaterale di Stati Uniti e Israele, che rappresenta un’escalation e contribuisce a un ordine internazionale più incerto e ostile. Rifiutiamo parimenti le azioni del regime iraniano e della Guardia Rivoluzionaria. Non possiamo permetterci un’altra guerra prolungata e devastante in Medio Oriente. Esigiamo la de-escalation immediata e il pieno rispetto del diritto internazionale. È ora di riprendere il dialogo e raggiungere una soluzione politica duratura per la regione”.Poche, misurate, chirurgiche parole. Che sono esattamente quelle che dovrebbe pronunciare uno statista oggi in Europa.E che dalla Presidente del Consiglio Meloni non sentiremo pronunciare neanche per sbaglio.Guardatelo e soprattutto ascoltatelo bene. Ecco come è fatto un leader.

We cannot afford another prolonged and devastating war in the Middle East.
We demand immediate de-escalation and full respect for international law. It is time to resume dialogue and reach a lasting political solution for the region."
A few, measured, surgical words. Which are exactly what a statesman should pronounce in Europe today.
