Spring Equinox
The arrival of the spring equinox marks a moment of balance in the calendar and also a signal for many birds that resume ancient routes. Among them is the hoopoe, recognizable by its warm plumage and the crest that unfolds like a fan. Its presence in March is not accidental because it is part of the migratory populations that return between the end of February and April to reoccupy their breeding areas in temperate regions.
This return coincides with the general awakening of the landscape, which begins to offer more insects on open and sunny soils. The hoopoe takes advantage of this change and moves with its undulating flight and its characteristic call that many recognize as soon as the season begins. That is why its arrival feels almost like a clear warning that spring is already underway and that life is picking up pace again.
La llegada del equinoccio de primavera marca un momento de equilibrio en el calendario y también una señal para muchas aves que retoman antiguos recorridos. Entre ellas destaca la abubilla, reconocible por su plumaje cálido y la cresta que despliega como un abanico. Su presencia en marzo no es casual porque forma parte de las poblaciones migratorias que regresan entre finales de febrero y abril para ocupar de nuevo sus zonas de cría en regiones templadas.
Este regreso coincide con el despertar general del paisaje, que empieza a ofrecer más insectos en suelos abiertos y soleados. La abubilla aprovecha ese cambio y se mueve con su vuelo ondulante y su característico reclamo que muchos reconocen en cuanto comienza la estación. Por eso su llegada se siente casi como un aviso claro de que la primavera ya está en marcha y de que la vida vuelve a tomar ritmo.

La sua presenza a marzo non è accidentale perché fa parte delle popolazioni migratorie che ritornano tra la fine di febbraio e aprile per rioccupare le loro aree di nidificazione nelle regioni temperate.
Questo ritorno coincide con il risveglio generale del paesaggio, che inizia a offrire più insetti su terreni aperti e soleggiati. L'upupa approfitta di questo cambiamento e si muove con il suo volo ondulato e il suo caratteristico richiamo che molti riconoscono non appena inizia la stagione. Ecco perché il suo arrivo sembra quasi un chiaro avvertimento che la primavera è già in corso e che la vita sta tornando a prendere piede.
