Shenandoah National Park, in Virginia (United States)
Is a natural jewel that visitors will fall in love with. The Blue Ridge Mountains are dressed in the colors of fall: golden walnut trees, red maples, and bronze-hued oaks. In November, fresh air fills the valley and the last leaves seem to cling to the slopes as if keeping a secret.
The famous Skyline Drive runs for about 170 kilometers and offers viewpoints where the clouds seem to touch the valleys. More than 800 kilometers of trails lead to hidden waterfalls, panoramic peaks and forests where it is possible to see deer or migratory birds in the wild.
A curious fact is that this park was one of the first in the United States to recover land to return it to nature, an example of conservation that inspired European parks. If you like the mountains and enjoy landscapes that change with each season, Shenandoah will remind you of the forests of northern Spain, but with an air of American adventure that deserves to be discovered.
