I’m worried
I’m worried.
All across the globe, we’re seeing a rising wave of authoritarianism.
Politicians are targeting civil society, undermining freedom of the press, and weaponizing the justice system. And no one is being spared. Even countries that thought they were immune from wholesale assaults on democracy now understand we're all part of this struggle.
As the calendar turns to 2026, we all must recognize that this is an inflection point. This is the time to fight for our democracy, and for our core values—right now, before it is too late.
So today I’m asking you to join me in that fight, by donating $25 to support The Obama Foundation and our work.

You and I both know that our democracy is not self-executing. It depends on us as citizens to stand up for our core values, especially in challenging times like these.
Every day, I’m inspired by the young people who participate in The Obama Foundation’s programs, who I see standing up every day, and applying themselves to the hard work of creating hope and making change.
Take the inspiring members of our Leaders program, for example. Your generous support has helped train young leaders like Amanda Litman, who works to increase participation in public service, having identified over 200,000 millennials and Gen Z citizens who want to participate in local government, and Murat Akaydin, whose work at Generation Vote Education Fund has boosted civic participation among underrepresented groups like veterans and disenfranchised individuals.
