Happy Diwali!

Diwali is a Hindu festival that celebrates hope, prosperity, and the triumph of good over evil. It commemorates Prince Rama's victorious return to the kingdom of Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana and also honors the goddess Lakshmi, who brings wealth and well-being, while some communities worship Kali.

During Diwali, families clean and decorate their homes, exchange sweets, and gather to pray, creating an atmosphere full of joy. At the center of the celebration are the diyas, small oil lamps that symbolize the light that overcomes darkness and the promise of new beginnings. One of the most spectacular places to experience this tradition is the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple, in Amritsar, India. This sacred site of Sikhism, open to people of all religions, is illuminated with countless diyas and golden lights reflecting off its sacred pool, creating a magical scene.

Although Diwali is not celebrated in a traditional way in Spain, some Indian communities commemorate it, inviting everyone to learn about this holiday and to reflect on the importance of light, hope and family and community unity.
